Dirk Voeste
Chief Sustainability Officer at Volkswagen
Dirk Voeste is the Chief Sustainability Officer at Volkswagen Group and was a speaker at Terras New York 2025. He and his team lead the development and implementation of Volkswagen’s sustainability and ESG strategy, shaping key stakeholder relationships across the Group. Dirk holds a Ph.D. in biology from the University of Bonn and an M.Phil. from Cranfield Institute of Technology. Earlier in his career, he managed three space flight experiments in collaboration with NASA. Before joining Volkswagen, Dirk held multiple leadership roles at BASF SE, including research and global marketing, as well as serving as Head of Sustainability and Product Stewardship for the Crop Protection Division.
